Etching Wine/Champagne Bottles Workshop- A hands on laser engraving exp

Come to the Fab Lab to etch your wine or champagne bottle(s) using the laser cutter. You will need to bring an unopened bottle with you to this event.  This workshop uses the rotary attachment for the laser cutters/engravers. We will have some designs ready to choose from, from NYE 2020 to other festive holiday and New Year's Eve designs, or create your own in Illustrator. Designs will look "white-ish", almost a frosted look from the etching. We will have some holiday designs to choose from as well.  Of course, depending on the color of the bottle, that will depend on the outcome of the design. Price is per bottle.  For example, if you have three bottles that you want to engrave, please purchase 3 tickets. Please note that if you have your own design that you want to engrave, you'll need to bring your own design to the lab on a flash drive.  The file needs to be in Adobe Illustrator or should be an outline of the picture you want. A regular picture will not work for this project.  You are also welcome to email your design to the Fab Lab prior to the workshop for guidance on file manipulation prior to the workshop. Please note the following: bottles need to be remain unopened during the entire event. No opening, or consuming of alcoholic beverages on the premises AT ALL. Labels need to remain unaltered as well. Set up could take some time between bottles, depending on the design, please be patient with the techs working the event. The Fab Lab at Lake Michigan College is an open access digital fabrication studio and collaborative workshop. We provide access to information, tools, software and space for anyone who has an interest to learn and create. The Fab Lab provides open access to design software, laser cutters, 3D printers, vinyl cutters, sewing machines, mini-lathes, woodshop, CNC router (ShopBot) and hand tools.
